IRM Construction worked closely with
the Department of Building and Works,
and Woodhead Architects to complete
the Denham Fisheries Facility in the
coastal town of Denham in Western Australia.
Built to endure cyclones, materials were
selected for both their durability and resistance
to strong coastal weather conditions.
FIRM delivered on all construction requirements
including civil works and structural precast
concrete panelling, as well as office fit-out joinery.
Specific coastal construction techniques were
applied, in addition to the use of recycled timber
for feature panels and quality polished veneer
joinery. Precast concrete wall panelling with
a honed finish was also designed specifically
to fit with the location, while glass panelling
and feature timber panelling feature strongly
throughout the interior.
FIRM Construction would like to acknowledge
Woodhead Architects, the WA Department
of Building and Works, the Department of
Fisheries and Hon Norman Moore MLA for their
contribution to the success of this project.
The high-quality fit-out for the new Department of Fisheries
office building provides a more structured facility for its staff.
