Constructed by DEPC, part of the Dawn
Express Group, all elements were considered
thoroughly with detailed and interesting
treatments being applied to all areas, including
ceilings and passageways.
The Theatrette’s organic shape creates an
interesting and unique internal space. The use
of Echolinear wall panelling not only treats
inherent acoustic concerns, but also serves
to accentuate its undulating shape.
The fan effect created by the surface-mounted
aluminium extruded light fittings also places
emphasis on the shape of the walls and the slight
taper of the ceiling.
The breakout space outside the Theatrette
doubles as a casual space where staff and guests
can mingle between lectures, and also showcases
information about the company, its projects and
environmental philosophies, for educational
purposes. The space needed to be quite open to
accommodate larger groups and be visually exciting.
The design addresses the client’s brief, and
spatial and functional requirements, while being
innovative to create a unique corporate interior.
