This landmark St Georges Terrace development
will literally reshape the city centre. Created by
HASSELL and Fitzpatrick + Partners, the design
combines old and new elements. Rising from
the centre, a 45-storey tower houses the new
headquarters of BHP Billiton. Finished in exposed
steel and glass, this elegant exterior tapers into
a diagonal crown. Around the base, restored
heritage buildings create a commercial precinct.
But it’s not just about business. The public are
invited to utilise vibrant and functional spaces.
On the western and southern sides, a plaza
features convenience stores and services, such
as newsagents, travel agents and hairdressers.
Print Hall, the former home to The West Australian
newspaper, becomes a striking restaurant and bar.
Other dining options will extend through heritage
buildings and a unique Café Court.
COST $500 million
