Award-winning architectural firm Woodhead has designed the first West Australian 6 Star Green Star rated
building, once again proving its commitment to environmentally sustainable design solutions.
At the core of Woodhead's philosophy
is the belief that the responsibility of
architects and designers extends beyond
the completion of construction to incorporate the
entire life cycle of a building.
e company's commitment to conducting
sustainable practices has been evident since 2006
when it became the first Asia Pacific architectural
practice to offset all carbon emissions.
Woodhead has also established
Environmentally Sustainable Design Minimum
Benchmarks, is an inaugural and continuing
member of the Green Building Council of Australia
(GBCA) and has been actively involved in the
creation of Australia's first Green Star rating tools.
VICTORIA AVENUE, PERTH CBD
Stockland commissioned Woodhead to design
a new five-storey, 7350sqm "green" landmark
commercial office building adjacent to Stockland's
current 13-storey Durack Centre.
Woodhead's regional principal and project
architect, John-Paul Davies, said the design brief
clearly stated "to provide a flagship building in
terms of design and environmental initiatives",
responding to Stockland's sustainability ethos.
e completed building exceeded the design
INDIVIDUALLY MONITORED automated
external louvres respond to sunlight and allow the
building to maintain views and natural lighting.
